Post-launch promotion planning

Notifications – after the video is released, what methods will be used to notify people that they should look at it? A good time to think about this is before the video is released… in fact, it is the best time to think about it!

Some other questions to ask:

Do you have an email list to send to (non-spam)? Or do you need to set up a list of email addresses to send the first wave to – your affiliates, reviewers, bloggers, etc.?

There have been campaigns from huge companies that flopped, partially due to negative reviews of their content, but some seemed to not have been promoted to employees of the companies that prepared them. If you tell your staff (employees, consultants, contractors, etc.) that you have released a video, they WILL generally look at it, and pass it on to others. (Note: if you can, send it to them before launch, even if just a few hours, and ask for feedback in case it has elements of a major flop… you can pull the video internally a lot easier than externally).
